Two games — LA Galaxy vs. Guadalajara and LAFC vs. Club America — will take place at SoFi Stadium in California on Wednesday, August 3 (8/3/2022), and both will be broadcast on ESPN. They can also be streamed live on DirecTV Stream, fuboTV and other live TV services. Here’s the schedule:
8/3 LA Galaxy vs. Guadalajara, 8:30 p.m. on ESPN
8/3 LAFC vs. Club America, 11:15 p.m. on ESPN
This edition of the Leagues Cup has been condensed into more of a showcase than previous years, due to schedule congestion, but it’s a preview of things to come. In 2023, the cup will expand to include every squad from Liga MX and MLS, and will serve as a qualifier into the CONCACAF Champions League.
For now, fans can enjoy seeing four of the best clubs in U.S. and Mexican soccer square off. LAFC and LA Galaxy are both in the top half of MLS’s Western Conference Rankings, with LAFC leading the entire league. Club America finished fourth las season in Liga MX, while Guadalajara finished sixth.
